Blue Origin LLC Loads & Dynamics Engineer, Early Career in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will help design and develop rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet Blue Origin's launch vehicle program requirements for various spaceflight systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop System Level Finite Element Models (FEM) based on interaction with the design and engine system analysis team. Use structural analysis methods to support test and failure investigations Derive shock & vibration levels for Engine components based on test data Support component qualification and acceptance testing Instrumentation selection, data quality verification and troubleshooting Communicate analysis results to the team Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering Excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials) Finite Element Modeling experience using one or more of the following Ansys, Abaqus, Nastran or any other commercial FEM solver. Signal processing experience with a preference in performing Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) or Power Spectral Density (PSD) calculations. Matlab or Python programming experience. Ability to work effectively in teams Ability to communicate analysis results effectively Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Instrumentation (Accelerometer, Strain gauges) and Data Acquisition Systems experience. Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools) Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $75,510-$105,714 Compensation range for on site CA applicants is $75,510-$105,714 Other site ranges may differ Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
