U.S. Army Sustainment Command Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist for the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. This is an obligated position to be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Responsibilities Oversee supply and service support to military, civilian, and contractor personnel assigned, stationed or within the Area of Support (AOS) of the installation. Administer the supply and service programs, including such functions as inventory, warehouse and storage management, stock control requirements determination, receipt and issue of supplies, retail and bulk petroleum, and Hazardous Materials. Manage multiples areas which can include the Installation Property Book Office, the Central Issue Facility, Food Program Management, Supply Support Activity, Ammunition Supply Point, and Subsistence Supply Management Operations. Review proposed new or revised logistics policies or procedures for overall adequacy, suggest revisions, and coordinate and staff through higher authority for approval prior to implementation or publication. Serve as policy advisor and subject matter expert on the evaluation of the effectiveness of the installation supply program. Compile, analyze, and interpret logistics readiness information. Initiate, or assign special logistics studies in connection with space, facilities, equipment, funds, and manpower. Oversee the work of the division and inspects activities for conformance with logistics policy, regulatory, and program requirements. Perform the full range of supervisory duties to include planning work to accomplished by subordinates, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning and/or managing supply and services operations for various functions or areas such as Property Book, Central Issue Facility, Food Program Management, Supply Support Activity, Ammunition Supply Point, and Subsistence Supply Management Operations; 2) Developing and/or implementing Standard Operating Procedures; 3) Determining improvement processes to supply methods and/or procedures; and 4) Leading projects and/or personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Operations Support Program Management Supply Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This position is eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework". Situational telework is sometimes also referred to as episodic, intermittent, unscheduled, or ad-hoc telework. Situational telework is approved on a case-by-case basis, where the hours worked were not part of a previously approved, ongoing, and regular telework schedule. Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years depending upon the needs of management. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
