Boehringer Ingelheim Accountant in Al Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

THE POSITION

We are looking for an Accountant to be part of our Saudi Arabia Finance team based in Riyadh. Key responsibilities include providing oversight and overall coordination of accounting functions and ensuring that accounting activities are performed at a high level of accuracy and timeliness. This position will be reporting to the Head of Finance and Administration.

Tasks & responsibilities

Month-end closing:

  • Drive the closing process and monitor GL reconciliations to ensure quality of accounts reconciliation and timely resolution of aged and reconciled items

  • Support Regional and local team in monitoring and ensuring quality vendor of Master data Management

  • Monitor employees expenses thru Concur and be last check point

Year-end closing process:

  • Responsible for Year-end close planning and reporting

  • Monitor and analyze financial data, establish and enforce proper accounting controls over provisions and different year-end close activities in line with GBS guidelines

Accounts Payable:

  • Implement and enforce controls over invoice approvals, on-time payments, payment requests

Accounts Receivable:

  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable, bad debts and credit controls in coordination with Credit Management and corporate guidelines

  • Manage Inter-company Service Charges in line with Corporate procedures. Monitor ICAR reconciliation and coordinate with GBS for clearing reconciling items

Fixed Assets:

  • Monitor CAPEX projects and ensure completeness and accuracy of related LTF/OL/Corporate reporting

Tax:

  • Maintain knowledge, and compliance with tax regulations and requirements and keep up to date with the current tax procedures and developments

  • Manage tax audits and ensure adequate planning and a clear strategy for managing and resolving issues

Audit:

  • Act as a main point of contact for external auditors during year-end audit. Manage audit deadlines, fieldwork and findings

Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate and timely Corporate reporting as per Corporate guidelines (FS I, FS II, CBCR, FS I Segmentation, TIS, Income Statement and Balance Sheet forecast)

  • Collaborate with Controlling to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics, including monthly reports, key financial metrics and actual spend against budgets/outlook

Internal Controls:

  • Oversee financial internal controls and compliance with BI policies and procedures and GBS guidelines

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role

  • Qualification in CPA, ACCA, CA, SOCPA is a plus

  • Deep understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

  • Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent report writing, communication and IT skills
