Position Summary
The Research and Sponsored Programs Administrator ( RSPA , Pre and Post Award, Non-Financial) plays a vital role in supporting the research and academic activities of the College. This position focuses on the administrative aspects of research grants and contracts both before and after award, but primarily deals with non-financial aspects. The RSPA collaborates with researchers, faculty, funding agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution and compliance of research projects. The RSPA is also responsible for the administration of the College’s responsible conduct of research program and for promoting and disseminating research and other sponsored activities on campus.
This remote position is based in Albany, NY. This role is required to be on-site at least 4 days per year. All remote work must be performed in a state in which the College is registered to do business which includes New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maryland, Texas, and California. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST , Monday through Friday. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.

Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills, demonstrated teamwork and process improvement abilities
Ability to function collaboratively with other business units across the College and with external constituents
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and Publisher
Proficiency with data management systems, social media, web applications and desktop publishing is desirable
Knowledge of current best practices in research administration
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field, master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with federal, state and/or foundation grant/contract applications pre- post-award non-financial is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with research policy and compliance preferred.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Salary Range $60,000-$75,000/annually
