The services we provide range from grading, paving, hot mix asphalt and liquid asphalt to recycling and much more. J.T. We are presently looking for an experienced Excavator operator to work on several projects in and around the Piedmont of North Carolina.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate various pieces of large equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
• Ensure proper operation of equipment by performing regular checks on their functionality
• Provide preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly
• Regularly clean equipment to preserve its quality and functionality
• Perform minor repairs on equipment issues
• Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
• Abide by all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as all company safety procedures
• Commit to the overall safety of the work environment by always taking extra precautions to work with the utmost care and consideration

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experienceworking with Excavator
• Experience working with a pipe crew
• Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
• Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair pieces of heavy equipment
• Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
• Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required; Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and, at times, as much as 90 pounds, as may be assigned; Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment; Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions; Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions;Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery; Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.
• Willing to perform some manual labor as needed and directed by supervisor
• Experience with grading and reading grade stakes and plans
• Normal start time 6:30 am however flexible hours required
• Work well with team, but work with minimum supervision
• Deals with co-workers, customer, and public in a respectful manner
• Reliable transportation to and from the Albemarle Office or Jobsite

Preferred:

• Valid driver's license
• Class B or higher driver's license and/or willing to acquire Class A driver's license
• Experience with GPS a plus
• Knowledge and certification for erosion control a plus
