Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Project Engineer, where you will engage in engineering design, development of plans, specifications, and cost estimation for the cleanup of environmentally impacted sites and abandoned mines. You will support evaluations of engineering alternatives for removal and remedial actions, and pilot studies of new technologies for mine cleanup. This role involves providing construction oversight, managing projects, budgets, and teams, and serving as a liaison between field and senior engineers. You will also communicate with clients and contractors during field construction.

Hard Skills

• Familiarity with design/construction of disposal cells, waste piles, evaporative covers/caps, erosion and water controls, stormwater routing and controls, road design, slope stabilization, and restoration techniques

• Experience with engineering design and construction oversight

• Experience with environmental investigations

• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D

• Familiarity with heavy equipment, earthwork construction, and land surveying

• Experience in environmental remediation, mining and mine reclamation, interaction with regulatory agencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suites, Adobe Acrobat

• Statistics experience

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Albuquerque, New Mexico and some days remote.

Work Environment

This position primarily involves desk work with occasional travel (30%) for fieldwork, particularly at uranium mines in Albuquerque, NM. The role includes a schedule of 2 weeks of fieldwork followed by 1 week off, during which you can work remotely on documentation or take leave. Travel, accommodation, and related expenses are covered. Fieldwork involves physical activities like hiking to project sites and conducting Gamma and soil sampling.
