This role in summary

$19.65 per hour. + $0.50 per hour at 6 months.

1st Shift - Monday-Friday - 7am-3:30pm - $19.65

2nd Shift - Monday-Friday - 3:30pm-12am - $19.65 +.30/hr

9 Holidays + 3 floating holidays

Whirlpool in Amana, Iowa is looking for Material Handlers to help assemble our world class refrigerators. This position works on the proper transportation and handling of material. Operate all types of material handling equipment. Receive, store, deliver, and maintain inventory records of parts and material.

Your responsibilities will include

  1. Properly transport various types of materials. Includes scrap, waste, etc. Locate material in proper places.

  2. Direct and make delivery of material to the proper delivery point.

  3. Maintain a minimum stock in the production area to ensure continuous production and report any part shortages.

  4. Safely load and unload steel, aluminum and other items from trucks, railway cars and place material in the proper area in a safe and orderly manner.

  5. Check in material received, issue and timely deliver the correct material, parts and etc. to the production lines and other areas as required.

  6. Visually inspect materials and containers for damage and report evidence of damage, discrepancy in weight, count, etc.

  7. Perform necessary transactions to maintain accurate quantity-by-location inventory control system.

  8. Perform safety checklist on all equipment.

  9. Maintain orderly and safe storage of material.

Minimum requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Able to pass a drug screen and background check
