Citigroup Head of Sales -Securities Services for Nordic and Netherlands-Director (Hybrid) in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Citi are currently looking to hire a new “Head of Sales for Securities Services Nordics and the Netherlands”. As the head of sales, you will be responsible for leading large strategic transactions across the region and working closely with colleague across Citi’s global franchise to refine and implement a sales and marketing strategy, aiming at substantially improving Citi's client footprint and maximizing associated revenues. By fostering strong internal relationships, you will be expected to leverage Citi's franchise and source relevant buying and selling opportunities for the clients, whilst better understanding client needs, introducing clients to the Citi offering, and influencing clients to work with Citi as their trusted partner.

As a strategic professional you will follow the latest trends in your field of expertise for application within your own job and the business. You will also be a recognized subject matter expert within your area of proficiency and be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness, both internally when working across divisions, as well as externally to clients - as such excellent communication skills are a must.

You will:

  • Develop the Citi franchise with a targeted client base in the region – clients will primarily include financial institutions including but not limited to Banks, Asset Managers and Pension Funds, so experience and knowledge of this sector is required to be considered for this role.

  • Be expected to engage with C-suite level clients and will partner with other salespeople as the representative of Citi’s Securities Services business for the region, where you will act as the main point of contact and have responsibility for growing the footprint.

  • Work with management and colleagues to establish a clear marketing plan with defined priorities and market penetration and revenue goals, which will translate into incremental sales credit and trading revenues for other Citi businesses.

  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to leverage existing contacts network, understand client needs when on-boarding and prospecting key clients with the end goal of increasing client satisfaction.

  • Assist colleagues in strategic positioning as well as helping to close transactions with various internal counterparts and stakeholders.

  • Lead in building a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics and work in close partnership with control functions to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.

  • Be expected to appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets through a strong governance and applying ethical judgement.

What we’ll need from you

  • Solid relevant industry knowledge, across Securities Services (for example Clearing & Custody, Fund Accounting, Alternative Investments, Depositories and Lending)

  • Prior Sales experience at a financial services organization, or at an established fintech company operating within this realm.

  • Whilst this is not managerial role, experience of management, specifically indirect management of peers to ensure a successful sales process is advantageous.

  • Broad client relationships are preferred, with specific focus on those financial institutions with a strong Dutch and Nordic footprint .

  • Experience of working on large strategic deals which can typically have a long sales cycle and require a self-motivated and highly organised individual to run multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Dutch languages skills would be a distinct advantage.

  • Bachelor’s/University degree essential, Master’s degree preferred
