St. Mary's Healthcare Program Director, Behavioral Health in Amsterdam, New York

Hiring Range: $38.57- $ 51.54

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops new programs and enhancements to existing ones. Directs and establishes policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide staff in delivering services that meet strategic plans.

  • Collaborates with healthcare staff to achieve preventative, supportive and restorative goals for patients.

  • Ensures staff utilizes available information to evaluate the effectiveness of care and adjusts in care as indicated.

  • Ensures that staff implements a collaborative interdisciplinary process to provide appropriate education.

  • Develops short- and long-range strategic plans for services, operating and capital budgets, and integrated strategic and financial plans.

  • Establishes and monitors operating performance targets and metrics.

  • Directs and coordinates the human and financial resources. Provides overall accountability for staffing levels, retention, structure and skill mix for direct staff.

  • Oversees the development of quality control practices and continuous improvement of services, policies, processes and programs.

  • Responsible for coordinating with community partners to effectively communicate program goals and objectives.

  • Collaborates with oversight agencies (e.g.-OMH, OASAS, DEA, Joint Commission, etc.) to ensure that standards of care are implemented into programs.

  • Responsible for working with the Human Resources Department in the hiring/interview/onboarding process. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels.Trains, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff on performance expectations. Applies progressive discipline when appropriate. Participates in hiring and termination procedures.

  • Complete annual and probationary evaluations and required employee job competency documentation.

  • Responsible for managing the review and approval of the timekeeping system, including but not limited to, time off requests, and bi-weekly payroll sign-off. Responsible for managing staff meal breaks to be in compliance with NYS labor law.

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital-setting, or multispecialty practice required with demonstrated performance in business development, marketing, revenue cycle management, office operations, provider relations, and process and performance improvement. Strong knowledge of revenue cycle and third-party payor reimbursement issues preferred. A thorough knowledge of provider, hospital and healthcare issues including managed care/reimbursement, practice operation issues, credentialing, recruitment, and governance.
