Job Summary

The Regional Director of Operations is responsible for ESS Alaska land based operations. Plans, directs, implements and assists with operational programs, policies, procedures to ensure contract compliance, profitability, safety and client satisfaction for multiple accounts across the United States. Manages all operational and business activities by performing duties personally or through subordinates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the catering and facilities management services provided by ESS at multiple to ensure delivery of the client service level agreements.

  • Financial outcomes to include but not limited to - delivering the budget and the unit cost targets for each service at all assigned locations.

  • Supervise District and Project Managers to ensure ESS policies/procedures are being followed and operational needs are managed and client’s scope of work and standards are understood and met.

  • Management, Laundry Management, Personnel Management. Ensure adequate resources are available with detailed manpower plans for the site.

  • Ensure HSEQ is proactively managed, measured and safe outcomes delivered for each site. Formal plans and documentation of proactive behaviors is tracked reported in the Monthly Business Reviews.

  • Maintain and build customer relationships for assigned locations while clear measurable satisfaction metrics and standards are agreed with the site Managers and delivered.

  • Deliver proactive cost savings as dictated by the contract initiatives.

  • Position requires regular travel (50% +) to client sites in multiple regions. Effective management of pre-determined key performance indicators

  • Completion of cost tracking and labor review documentation

  • Responsible for submission of all financial documentation for account management

  • Responsible for contract execution and scope management

  • Effective management and review of all subcontractors

  • Proficient in developing project plans, utilizing project management software and executing deliverables

  • Manages 4-5 direct reports and up to 500 total. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; or 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in food service management required, particularly with catering background in the offshore and/or remote site arena.

  • Ability to travel 15-20% within assigned territory

  • Hospitality, Hotel operations experience.

  • Regional or multi-unit experience.
