Cook Inlet Region, Inc Senior Cloud Architect in Anchorage, Alaska

General Function

In alignment with CIRIs mission and values,developing and supporting software and cloud applications for CIRI and clients; managing account activity and operational integrity of business applications, and promoting sales of software products.

Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

  1. Oversee software product development.
  2. Analyze and troubleshoot problems as well as resolve software issues.
  3. Collaborate with users and departments to analyze current and projected data information, needs, and resources as required.
  4. Develop detailed requirements documents and design specifications, definitions, flow charts, diagrams, performance criteria, and testing methods and produces a statement of work.
  5. Prepare and develop written documents, training videos, and operational procedures for data elements and sources.
  6. Coordinate systems maintenance, testing, and production updates.
  7. Develop and provide training and technical guidance to users and staff.
  8. Migrate client data into application database structures.
  9. Develop and maintain data integration solutions between various applications, using APIs, plugins, custom code, and scripting.
  10. Provide professional data analysis and programming recommendations.
  11. Install, configure and implement third-party vendor databases and applications.
  12. Provide technical assistance and training to support IT analysts and contractors in the development, testing, debugging, and implementation of new or modified applications.
  13. Engage and ensure effective delivery of technology solutions and business deliverables with business partners.
  14. Monitor day-to-day operations, performance, backup, usage, and storage requirements of systems.
  15. Develop and work with reporting solutions and database methodologies, such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Microsoft SQL Server, stored procedures, and views.
  16. Responsible for managing relationships with existing clients and developing strategies for acquiring new clients.
  17. Provide presentations and client management.
  18. Performs other duties as appropriate.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Understand CIRIs mission, values and strategic focus areas and incorporate knowledge into daily activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated-company employees as well as outside business associates; exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others.
  • In-depth and current knowledge of programming, databases, and web services.
  • In-depth knowledge of application code management.
  • Direct experience of a range of services from the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform including Infrastructure and Security related services such as Azure AD, IaaS, Storage, Networking, and Azure Security.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Platform As A Service(PaaS) products such as Azure SQL,AppServices, Logic Apps, Functions, and other Serverless services
  • Microsoft Azure Operational and Monitoring tools, including Azure Monitor, App Insights, and Log Analytics.
  • Proficient inSQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Microsoft SQL database management, .NET, HTML and API writing.
  • Ability to build and manage client accounts.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive work plans for short, mid-range, and long-term projects, including budgeting and reporting. Ability to manage such projects and to perform many of the related project tasks.
  • Proven project management skills for large and small projects, utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Superior organizational, follow-up and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare and submit comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as on a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstr tes self-initiative by collaborating, developing solutions, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Make decisions, solve problems and exercises excellent judgment.
  • Work well under pressure and independently prioritize workload, while working on multiple projects.

  • High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science orEight years of progressively responsible experience in the information technology field.
  • Work experience that highlights strong project management skills.
  • Ability to pass a background screening.
