Incumbent serves as Maintenance Supervisor for the Government Center and Annex, and Assistant Properties Manager for all county buildings, responsible for directing and performing maintenance operations.

DUTIES:

Supervises maintenance personnel, including making work assignments, providing training and corrective instruction, and maintaining time sheets.

Performs major and minor electrical repairs on county-owned buildings and related equipment, including installing electrical circuits, outlets, fixtures, security and fire systems, telephone lines and computer cables.

Directs and assists with remodeling projects, including building walls, ceilings and floors, and installing valves.

Installs and/or replaces plumbing, including fixtures, water lines, sinks, toilets, water coolers, pumps, motors, and valves.

Maintains heating and cooling systems, including checking and recording meter levels.

Maintains various maintenance records, including repairs, work orders, maintenance procedures, and accident reports.

Performs and/or directs seasonal preventive maintenance on county-owned equipment and buildings.

Receives and logs maintenance and custodial work requests from various county departments, secures parts and tools, assigns to qualified personnel, and assists with work as needed.

Assists with planning capital improvements and makes recommendations on repairs and replacements.

Assist Properties Manager in directing and supervising department operations and performs duties of Property Manager in his/her absence.

Performs welding on fabricated parts, including motor mounts and tools.

May serve on special emergency committees such as bomb search team and attends prescribed training.

Serves on 24-hour call, 7 days a week for snow removal as necessary.
