Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard Excepted Service position is for an Family Program Specialist, Position Description Number NGT5301000 and is part of the Force Support Squadron, Mission Support Group of the District of Columbia Air National Guard (ANG) Wing. -- This is NOT a REMOTE position; the incumbent will report to a Duty Station -- Responsibilities The purpose of the position is to serve as a team member and advisor on Family program issues, assist in the development, planning , implementing and administering the Family Program concerning family an quality of life issues, with the Force Support Squadron Commander, Joint Force Headquarters - Family Program Director, National Guard Bureau Family Programs Office, and US Air Force/Major Command Family Readiness Directors. This position is: Develops standard formats and procedures to record volunteer hours and to collect other volunteer data. Serves as representative at conferences and meetings on quality of life and family program matters. Assists in planning, maintaining and updating an ongoing system of information and referral for use by the military community. Conducts needs assessments to identify other programming needs of family members. Provides technical assistance to personnel publicizing quality of life and family program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Area of Consideration Group 3 - All US Citizens. All groups of Federal re-employable eligibles. Priority Placement and Veterans' Preference will be cleared. GENERAL EXPERIENCE Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions. Plan and organize work, communicate effectively, orally, and in writing. Experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One year experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. At least one year of the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Please be advised: 1.
