Job Description

Grants Management and Compliance (60%)

  • Ensure that IRC’s grants in Iraq are well-administered and implemented in compliance with the relevant donor regulations and IRC procedures.

    • Manage reporting to ensure timely delivery of high-quality reports which meet donor and IRC requirements, with support program managers/ coordinators

    • Coordinate and support regular monitoring of grants, using appropriate grant management tools and through facilitation and support of regular and timely Grant Review, Opening and Closing -Meetings and BVA Meetings. Ensure documentation and sharing of meeting minutes and action items identified in grant meetings

    • Maintain a comprehensive information management and filing system that ensures all donor contractual documents, reports, key correspondences, etc. are appropriately filed in, up-to-date and consistent soft and hard libraries available

    • Ensure regular maintenance of online grant files, reporting calendars, and updating of internal IRC documentation and Grant Unit tools

    • Support the Grants Coordinator and program teams to provide timely responses to donor and HQ grant-related requests.

    • Identify potential compliance concerns and flag them to the Grants Coordinator as required.

Program Design & Proposal Development (30%)

-Support development of concept notes and proposals, providing both writing and editing support, as required

  • Collaborating with the Grants Coordinator and technical leads to develop comprehensive program designs and create funding proposals or concept notes. Ensure alignment with the country-level Strategic Action Plan.

  • Provide coordination support for proposal development, facilitating communication between HQ, IRC’s global technical advisors, partners, finance, operations, HR, and program focal points to ensure efficient and timely proposal processes.

Training and Capacity Building (10%)

  • Build grant management capacity of IRC and partner organization staff by supporting the Grants Coordinator to conduct training, and support in report writing, proposal development, grant management, and other topics as/if needed.

  • Develop topic relevant training materials to be used during training and support sessions.

Qualifications

  • Education: University Degree in international relations or a related field, or relevant work experience.

    • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a humanitarian/development setting, with proven field-based experience in grants management and business development.

    • Program design and proposal writing (including logical frameworks).

    • Knowledge of international donor regulations (USAID, BPRM, ECHO, FCDO, SIDA, UN, etc.).

    • Strong communication, organizational, time management, and analytical skills.

    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the grants team.

    • Competency in Windows, MS Office programs, emails, and relevant databases.

    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a track record of handling pressure to improve grant management processes.

    • Interpersonal, cultural, and diplomatic skills.

    • Capacity to mentor and build staff capacity.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

Language Skills: Professional fluency in English, with additional Arabic/Kurdish language skills as an advantage.

Total benefits:

Salary range:(3,380,192 - 4,394,250) Iraqi Dinars, based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity and budget as well as calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

  • 13th month salary per year.

  • 21 days of leave and 15 days of paid holidays per year.

  • IRC provides health insurance for staff and their dependents.
