Summary

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures (RLL) invites applications for a Lecturer I position in the French section of the Elementary Language Program (ELP) beginning on August 26, 2024, and runs through December 31, 2024. Mandatory Orientation for all instructors is August 19-22, 2024. The selected applicant must attend the Orientation.

This is a part-time (66.67%), in-person position with the possibility of renewal.

Responsibilities*

This position is responsible for teaching two sections in the ELP under the supervision of one or more Course Coordinators. In addition, Lecturers are expected to attend course meetings, hold office hours, and handle routine matters related to instruction.

Required Qualifications*

Applicants must have native, or near-native fluency in French and English, as well as prior experience teaching courses in French as a foreign/second language. Minimum education level of Bachelor's Degree required; advanced training or degree preferred.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
