Job Summary
The Department of Psychology is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to work on an NSF-funded project on reducing COVID and Flu vaccine hesitancy (see descriptionhere (https://www.ssrc.org/grantees/addressing-my-concerns-increasing-vaccine-uptake-through-tailored-interactive-decision-aids/) ). This project examines topics related to educational interventions, risk perception, misinformation, and applied cognition. The candidate will work closely with Dr.'s Richard Lewis, Priti Shah, and John Jonides, as well as their research staff and collaborators. Successful candidates will have interests in the field of applied cognition and will also have experience with Bayesian data analysis or other modeling techniques.

Responsibilities*
Address new study questions
Test intervention materials
Create online intervention modules
Develop statistical models of large amounts of on-line data
Assist with manuscript writing
Supervise students (1 graduate student & 3-4 undergraduate students)
Present research activities within the group and at scientific meetings.
Required Qualifications*
PhD degree or equivalent in social or cognitive psychology, cognitive science, public health, information, or a related field.
Analysis experience in R or Python.
Experience with Bayesian Modeling.
Experience with website development.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and oral and written English communication.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desired Qualifications*
Interest in learning new data analysis techniques in R.
Interest in learning methods to collect data from large representative samples.
Interest in collaborative research.

Work Locations
Work location is expected to be onsite in Ann Arbor with flexibility for remote work on an as needed basis.

Salary is $61,008/year plus benefits. The appointment will be for one year, with a potential for renewal for one additional year. The preferred start date is January 2025.
