As a Senior IT Systems Technician, you will support our government client’s activities in several Maryland locations, including Annapolis Junction and Hanover, Maryland.

HOW A SENIOR IT SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Providing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of information systems, applications, and related peripheral hardware

  • Working closely with GDIT employees to ensure IT tickets are responded to and resolved in a timely manner

  • Screens, refers, and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers and related systems

  • Provides troubleshooting and support, Installs, configures, and upgrades computer hardware and software

  • Participates in special projects as required, coordinates development of deliverables and products

  • Provides onsite support for other technical and organizational groups including hands/eyes-on assistance for remote teams

  • Offering technical support and training to end-users

  • Expanding current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

  • Maintains systems for conference rooms and associated AV components

  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule

  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of directly related experience supporting network/end-user computing OR an AA/AS and 5+ years of related experience

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance w/Polygraph

  • Operational knowledge of the following: Active Directory, Group Policy, SharePoint, ServiceNow, SCCM, Qualys Security, and Microsoft System Center products.

  • Experience with Dell Servers (Windows Server 2016 or 2019), Hyper-V virtualization

  • Experience with Windows and Mac desktops, laptops, mobile devices (iOS, Android), and application support

  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking principles

  • Experience with electronic ticketing systems, attention to detail, and direct customer service is essential

  • Position requires lifting equipment that weighs 20-30 pounds, walking and standing, pushing, and pulling; working around, under, and over desks

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic knowledge of Juniper or Cisco Routers/Switches, Aruba Wireless (WLC, WAP).

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $34.74 - $47.00. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
