Insight Global Procurement Buyer in Annapolis, Maryland

Job Description

We are looking for a procurement buyer to work at the Naval Academy, this person will be responsible for purchasing suppliers for the tradesman to support the contract, i.e. electricians, plumbers, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 · Facilitates the procurement of supplies and goods critical in the sustainability of business operations.

 · Conduct research and comparative analysis of different products and alternatives to identify the best possible deals.

 · Develop and implement procurement strategies to minimize costs and drive profit margins.

 · Schedules purchase orders strategically to ensure continuity of supplies.

 · Resolves discrepancies and issues in invoices and purchase orders.

 · Follow up to ensure proper delivery of the orders.

 · Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones.

Skills and Requirements

· Minimum two years of purchasing experience.

 · Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field.

 · Experience in financial planning and cost-benefit analysis.

Possess a strong understanding of market trends, organizational objectives and supplier capabilities to ensure success.

 · Knows how to identify negotiation leverage, anticipate objections and find mutually beneficial solutions.

 · Experience with purchase orders, ordering supplies and working with suppliers

 · Excellent decision-making and negotiating skills. Plusses:

 · Federal contracting experience

 · Experience in Maximo null
