Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Digital Transformation Lead - Synthetics Development to join our Synthetics Development Leadership Team located in Beerse, Antwerp, Belgium.

As a key member of our Synthetics Development Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a digital strategy in the area of small-molecule CMC development, and driving a positive and sustainable transformation within our organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Shape Digital Strategy for Synthetics Development

  • Establish comprehensive digital vision and data strategy for Synthetics Development

  • Translate strategy into a plan that integrates scientific needs with data requirements and business systems

  • Co-create a digital roadmap and ensure alignment and integration with internal and external partners

2. Lead Digital Transformation and Cultural Change

  • Drive change to incorporate data analytics, modeling, visualization, and AI-ML into organization's way of working

  • Inspire, engage and empower the organization, driving end-user adoption of new digital technologies and fostering a culture of innovation

  • Collaborate with teams and contribute to communities of practice to share digital solutions

  • Facilitate collaboration and integration of talent across our scientific functions to drive innovation through digital technologies

3. Identify Digital Opportunities and Simplify Processes:

  • Identify data-driven opportunities and simplify processes across functions and product lifecycle

  • Challenge existing processes and governance to facilitate cultural change

  • Conceptualize and pilot proof-of-concept initiatives to evaluate new technologies

4. Build Strong Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with internal partners to align strategies and build digital technology base

  • Engage with external partners and knowledge institutes to shape innovative digital solutions

  • Stay updated on evolving technology trends and translate them into business opportunities

5. Shape Digital Governance and Organizational Structure.

  • Represent Synthetics Development in governance forums

  • Contribute to shaping the organization and integrating digital solutions

  • Establish digital governance, define priorities, and balance strategic direction with input from individuals and teams

  • Provide leadership and mentoring, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

6. Facilitate Knowledge Management:

  • Improve knowledge sharing across projects and functions

  • Develop strategies and systems for institutionalizing knowledge

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master degree in a scientific or technical field. Equivalent experience in a similar field will also be considered.

  • Demonstrated expertise in leading the transition to digital platforms and encouraging positive changes

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, with the capacity to inspire and bring about positive transformation even without direct authority.

  • Strong understanding of digital technologies and their application to manufacturing process development.

  • Experience in translating scientific goals into a strategic vision.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and engage with individuals from various departments within a large organization.

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, with a focus on integrating digital solutions into broader organizational strategies and workflows.

  • Leadership experience preferred, demonstrating an ability to motivate and empower teams.
