Eaton Corporation Application Engineer - Power Circuit Breakers in Arden, North Carolina

Eaton’s Marketing & Commercial Operations division is currently seeking a Application Engineer - Power Circuit Breakers. This hybrid role is located at our Arden, NC facility. If you are currently residing outside a 50-mile radius of the Arden area, relocation assistance will be available.

What you’ll do:

The Application Engineer provides technical support for power circuit breakers (low and medium voltage), molded case circuit breakers (MCCB) and the trip units associated with these products. Support includes product selection, troubleshooting, application and testing assistance for customers, field sales, field service and distributors. This position provides technical leadership for the Power Circuit Breaker technical support team which includes developing and conducting training. This position is also the liaison with the product marketing and engineering teams.

In the function you will:

  • Use problem solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues.

  • Provide efficient and accurate pre-sale application and technical support by analyzing and recommending solutions to meet customer’s needs.

  • Interpret customer specifications, drawings and schematics to assist with quotes and solutions.

  • Develop and conduct training for the TRC Technical Support Engineers and other EatonCare personnel.

  • Provide technical assistance for the TRC Technical Support Engineers and others in EatonCare.

  • Help manage daily phone, email, and other channel activity (i.e. chat and knowledge base) by providing direction, solutions and recommendations.

  • Effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies.

  • Provide support on applicable codes and standards associated with the products.

  • Review and provide feedback on product literature developed by product line.

  • Make recommendations for product enhancements and offerings.

  • Proactively communicate customer needs to the product lines.

  • Maintain and expand product knowledge base.

  • Participate in product road mapping, strategy and planning sessions with the product lines.

  • Develop application notes.

  • Identify, develop, and maintain tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in technical or engineering field from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience.

  • Prior work experience with power circuit breakers required.

  • Sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.
