As a Patient Registration Representative , we are often the first point of contact for our patients and their families. As such we value representing an important first impression. Our professionalism, expertise and dedication help ensure that our patients receive the quality of care they need. We are diligent in obtaining complete and accurate insurance and demographic information in a timely manner, this enable us to provide high quality, compassionate health care service to all who need them, regardless of their ability to pay. Positions may be available in the following areas: Emergency Room, Operating Room, Outpatient, Infusion, Maternal Child and Transplant Services.

Location: Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (MGMC), located at 3555 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert, AZ 85297

Both locations offer shift differentials for afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends as well as on call pay. We have an onsite cafeteria and gift shop with employee discounts as well as an onsite Starbucks and free parking. Performance based bonuses are also available.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicates directly with patients and / or families either in person or on the phone to complete the registration process by collecting patient demographics, health information, and verifying insurance eligibility/benefits

  • Responds to patient and caregivers' inquiries related to routine and sensitive topics always in a compassionate and respectful manner

  • Utilizes computer systems to enter, access or verify patient data in real - time ensuring accuracy and completeness of information

  • Generates, reviews and analyzes patient data reports and follows up on issues and inconsistencies as necessary

  • Work independently for extended periods

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • 6+ months experience in an office setting, customer service setting (over the phone or face to face), phone support role or call center environment

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with google applications (sheets, docs, etc.) with the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications

  • Ability to type 40 WP

  • Ability to work standard shift hours, Tuesday-Saturday in 8 hour shifts from 11:00am-8:30pm

  • Ability to adhere to the training schedule for the first two weeks, Mon-Fri 7:00am – 3:30pm

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of medical terminology

  • 1+ year of Registration experience in a hospital or medical setting

  • Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient care settings

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

  • Ability to work for extended periods alone
