AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

At AWS, we believe in a security and compliance culture are critical to accelerating regulated markets such as FedRAMP, DoD SRG, PCI, HIPAA, etc. and supporting them over time, using AWS security automation and and developer services as well as the rich security and compliance partner solutions such as CIS, Trend Micro, Splunk and others.

We are we are looking for a security and compliance strategic leader to help public sector solution providers understand these best practices and tools, and to implement an optimal environment in AWS.

As a security partner strategist, you will build initiatives and demonstrate thought leadership in the security and compliance disciplines, deliver awareness programs to educate solution providers, and work directly with partner and customers to accelerate solutions in regulated industries (i.e., financial services, healthcare and life sciences, and government). You will work with other AWS teams, APN Consulting and Technology partners, and other stakeholders to deliver in these areas, with the primary goal of growing the number of customers using AWS for security and compliance workloads, and growing the number of public sector solutions deployed on AWS which leverage automation for security and continuous risk treatment through the combination these two disciplines.

The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in security and have a deep understanding on security/compliance use cases for building cloud solutions in support of regulated markets. The candidate should possess a strong background in technology partnerships and cloud solutions along with strong business development, strategic alliances, and entrepreneurial skills. He/she should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about new business models, solution selling, and technical challenges to help build and convey compelling value propositions for AWS customers with our partners. The candidate should also have a proven track record of influencing innovation through a partner ecosystem with prior solution and program successes. Security Clearance Required.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build C-level relationships with our top partners and generate interest in new AWS programs focused on security and compliance, to accelerate AWS adoption across the regulated markets.

  • Be an execution partner for the security segment by building programs, which incorporate industry and AWS best practices in enabling security culture for our customers.

  • Enable cross-functional collaboration across and within the organization. Help be the voice for the teams and bring better visibility of important efforts.

  • Help drive thought leadership for security and compliance, supporting customers looking to operate in, or as part of regulated industry verticals.

  • Identify issues or roadblocks with existing processes. Create and promote solutions to keep processes running smoothly.

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Strategy teams, Business Development, System Integrators, Independent Software Vendors, and Strategy and Operations on the development of new processes supporting their migration to AWS.

A day in the life

The primary focus of the role is to help customers and partners accelerate regulated workloads on AWS. The daily interaction will be between program partners and external customers/partners seeking help with how to achieve a security certification on AWS.

Our teams mission is to support AWS customers in their pursuit of differing compliance authorizations.

There are 2 primary goals of our program:

1) Support security and compliance efforts of customers.

2) Build a robust community of partners. We are a partner-led, partner-driven program, and rely heavily upon our partner community to assist us in supporting AWS customers.

We support businesses globally that need to meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements for financial services, healthcare, privacy, and public sector.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years experience operating in a role related to international security and compliance, such as security or compliance auditing, public policy, business development with a security and compliance focus, or related role.

  • 5+ years working in security and compliance role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements in a given global region (USA, Asia, Latin America, European Union)

    • Target orientated, ambitious, creative, customer focused
    • Self-starter with highly developed interpersonal skills and organizational skills
    • Ability to create and execute integrated lead generation campaigns using tactics that include live and/or virtual events, webinars, email, organic social, paid media and sales insights.
    • Manage incoming leads and distribute across geographical/industry leaders
    • Maintain at least one internationally recognized cybersecurity certification, to include but not limited to CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, or Security- - Security Clearance

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $73,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
