Amentum DARPA Software Engineer I in Arlington, Virginia

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer I to assist in the research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and can work independently with little guidance and in dynamic, fast -paced team environments. This is a full time – position at on site Government facility in Arlington, VA. Occasional telecommuting is a possibility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conceive, plan and conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity that will require unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques

  • Apply programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and apply modern software development methodologies (e.g., agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.

  • Interface with a variety of audiences to include internal and external Government and Military leadership and stakeholders across all services through verbal, written and presented communications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an R&D environment in areas such as engineering, scientific research, or program management

  • Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer

  • Must have an active US Government TS Clearance with SCI eligibility. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Adobe PDF
