About the role

Overall role purpose The Go Beyond network strategy has a focus on growing and protecting our international business. Supporting both “grow” and “protect” elements of the network strategy is the strategic priority of the Global Relationship Database – Independence Relationship Checking project (GRD-IRC). Once in place GRC-IRC will enhance compliance with independence requirements, speed up decision making and enable member firms to compete for international business more effectively. This role will lead the initiative to develop a foundational and scalable global data solution with a specific focus on delivering a new and improved Independence Relationship Checking process.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead Grant Thornton strategic network initiative to develop a foundational and scalable global data foundation with a specific focus on delivering a new Independence/Relationship Checking (IRC) application.​

  • Ownership of project scope, requirements, outcome and benefits​

  • Responsible for developing and managing the GRD/IRC system requirements to ensure we have a clearly defined goal/target state for the Project to deliver

  • Be able to define what success looks like, and what is the definition of done

  • Responsible for achieving the GRD/IRC business requirements and ensure alignment with GTIL, member firm, and third-party technology providers.​

  • Engage and communicate with key GTIL and network stakeholders on program vision, objectives, scope, schedule, quality, and cost.​

  • Partner with GTIL technical, project management, vendors, and business resources to deliver the project scope and benefits​

  • Communicate to the GLT (Global Leadership Team) and Global Relationship Data Steering Committee (GRDGC) via monthly updates and regular interaction with the GRDGC chair-person​

  • Accountable for the project deliverables meeting quality, schedule, and benefits; provides approval sign-off on requirements, priorities, test results, deliverables, and any decision or material requiring business approval

  • Provide overall leadership, coordination, and direction for knowledge management and training for solution rollout​

  • Oversees member firm committees (user group and associated working groups)

Person specification

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to coalesce and present material in a concise understandable form to various target audiences

  • Quick learner and self-starter with the ability and confidence to execute their responsibilities with limited oversight

  • A problem solver creative in finding solutions to issues or approaches to meet a need

  • A team player willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed and able to adapt to changing priorities

  • Flexible; able to adapt to changing priorities

    Experience – Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or related industry or at least 2 years’ experience with relationship checking in professional services firms

  • Experience in understanding business processes and data collection

  • Experience in leading discussions with diverse groups

  • Experience in working with a global, virtual team

  • Experience working with technology and technology providers

  • Familiarity with organizational change management and training practices

  • Familiarity with resource and budget planning

    Experience – Desirable

  • Familiarity with project management best practices
