Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Knowledge Management and Information Specialist, CG-301-11/12 in Arlington, Virginia

Summary This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Administrative Management and Operations Branch (AMOB) in Arlington, VA of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and provides administrative support in the implementation of strategies to manage knowledge and information as a strategic asset. Responsibilities At the full performance level, major duties include: Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of DCP's Knowledge Management Program. As directed by the National Knowledge Management Team Lead and in collaboration with other Knowledge Management and Information Specialists, coordinates with employees, managers, and executives throughout DCP and Corporate University to support the initiation of the development of training, various communications, or other efforts to support DCP goals and initiatives, and to advise in the assessment of the effectiveness of these efforts. Independently carries out and/or supports a wide range of administrative functions required to execute knowledge management initiatives and objectives, including but not limited to activities related to processing and managing Professional Learning Accounts (PLA) for DCP personnel; reviewing; addressing and managing requests and information populated in the DCP KMP Mailbox; carrying out administrative tasks related to the production of RAC calls and other similar knowledge sharing events; and reviewing, editing and publishing a wide range of publications including DCP Bulletins and other recurring publications. Conducts activities to support DCP's communication program to notify staff of changes in regulations, procedures, guidance, or training opportunities. Coordinates with the DCP Intranet Coordinator to ensure that the DCP website, regulatory calendars, and resources are updated and accurate. Supports the development, implementation, and assessment of DCP learning and development initiatives. Provides administrative support that assists in carrying out the Division's innovation and technology-based solutions initiatives to be responsive to the various internal communication needs and fast cycle learning that will allow delivery of information at the right time to the right audience. Takes on a lead role on assigned tasks related to the implementation of innovative and technology-based solutions. Qualifications Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-11: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 9 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in implementing strategies to manage knowledge and information systems as a strategic asset and consulting on instructional programs. - OR - Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related. - OR - A combination of graduate level education beyond a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree and specialized experience as described above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. CG-12: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 11 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in implementing strategies to manage knowledge and information systems as a strategic asset and developing or consulting on instructional programs; and applying communication methodologies, and technologies to disseminate information. Additional Information Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office at least 1 day per pay period beginning January 2, 2024, and at their supervisor’s direction to support mission and project needs.
