Amazon Startups Solutions Architect, AWS Startups in Arlington, Virginia

Description

As a Startups Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will be a technical leader responsible for designing and implementing complex, scalable, and highly available cloud-based solutions for fast-growing startup customers. You will work closely with startup founders, engineering teams, and AWS sales/partner teams to understand their unique business and technical requirements, and architect innovative solutions leveraging the breadth of AWS services. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and exceptional communication skills to translate technical concepts into practical solutions that drive customer success.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to startup customers, providing architectural guidance and thought leadership on cloud-based solutions

  • Design and document complex, multi-tier cloud architectures that meet the performance, scalability, security, and cost requirements of high-growth startups

  • Collaborate with startup engineering teams to implement and deploy AWS-based solutions, providing technical mentorship and hands-on support as needed

  • Identify opportunities to leverage the latest AWS services, features, and best practices to optimize the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of customer solutions

  • Work closely with the AWS sales and partner teams to drive the adoption of AWS services and solutions within the startup ecosystem

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS product roadmaps, service releases, and industry trends to anticipate customer needs and proactively recommend solutions

  • Contribute to the development of AWS architectural patterns, reference architectures, and technical content for the startup community

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
