Amazon Technical Program Manager III, Make on Demand in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon is committed to building a sustainable future for our customers, local communities, and the planet. Under The Climate Pledge we committed to be net-zero carbon across our business by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people that are dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the sustainability of our products and supply chain.

Are you able to look around corners, see into the future, and change the world? Are your problem solving skills legendary? Do you excel at decomposing problems and inventing simple solutions, at scale? Can you influence cross-functional teams across multiple organizations to ensure the right technical solution is delivered? Ready to drive sustainability into the future at Amazon? If so, you could be the experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to focus on and drive sustainability for books.

With Print-On-Demand (PoD), we envision a world where customers can buy any book in any language and, where publishers and authors can distribute their titles without having to hold physical inventory, where every book is always “in-stock” and customer orders are manufactured in real-time, close to the customer and delivered on-time, helping the environment by only printing books readers want. However, that isn’t enough and it's still Day-1. We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to join our POD team in Arlington, VA, Seattle, WA, or Charleston, SC, who will drive sustainability initiatives across our global manufacturing network.

The TPM works cross-functionally across Amazon's PoD and wider retail business to develop and implement sustainability programs that will bring about measurable operational and environmental benefits. This is a high-impact senior role with an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on our overall sustainability goal to provide books to readers, in the most environmentally sustainable way possible.

The successful candidate must be able to confidently handle complex projects and provide guidance in situations of high ambiguity, showing good judgment and continually improving their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business, and relevant technologies. The candidate must have a track record of delivering impact within new environments including the ability to apply systems thinking to complex, fast moving problems. The role will engage with external partners to measure and benchmark our current operations and to develop the sustainability roadmap, define product requirements using inputs from a diverse set of stakeholders and prioritize investments, and drive the roadmap to completion.

Come join our MOD team and get ready to Work Hard, Have Fun, and Make History!
