Nuclear Fuel Services Production Operator in Arnprior, Ontario

With nearly 500 workers across locations in Peterborough, Toronto, and Arnprior, BWXT NEC supplies nuclear fuel and fuel channel components, services, equipment and parts for the CANDU® nuclear power industry.

Production Operator

We are currently seeking a Production Operator to support our Arnprior team.

Specific responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Complete required paperwork for traceability of product

  • Inform Supervisor/Process owners on quality issues

  • Perform all required Quality checks daily

  • Ensure safe operating procedures are always followed

  • Strict adherence to Job Safety Hazard Analysis, Ontario Health & Safety Act & Regulations and all Plant Safety Rules/Protocols

  • Identify safety issues and concerns

  • Take corrective action; monitor the corrective action

  • Train/assist new employees on safety and quality requirements

  • Operate various machinery on shop floor, ie, Pilger Mills, Amtrex, Polisher, HPTR’s,

  • Verify Quality requirements as per specifications for all products.

  • Meet demanding productivity goals

  • Perform repetitive work without losing effectiveness

  • Keep up with high-speed equipment and/or production demand

    Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 graduate

  • Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment

  • Able to work 8 hour rotating shifts

  • Able to participate on Emergency Response Team.

  • Flexible to doing Shift Work.

  • Able to work weekends if necessary.

Selected applicants will be tested and interviewed.

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between Hourly Pay Range: $33.15 - $36.83 . However, the base range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
