Summary Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) will operate within the Office of the Associate Director located at the Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC with several Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The incumbent reports directly to the Mobility Manager, who has an office at the VA Medical Center. Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to the following: Daily responsibilities include collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of Veteran Transportation Service (VTS). Perform a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports. Collate in-coming data from a variety of sources. Reviews documents, reports and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies and ensures data entry is complete and accurate. Enter pertinent information into an automated tracking system. Receive DSS extracts to verify that the workload being captured in DSS is correct. Maintain automated system of program- specific data to track items such as service project milestones, progress reports, clinic trends, program trends, performance measures, compliance strategies, etc. Interact with various other transportation services such as Emergency Medical Service (EMS), Volunteer Transportation Network (VTN), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) etc., and other transportation providers. Coordinate service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialty areas. Plan consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive consultation services in a timely manner. Utilize the Veterans Health Information System & Technological Architecture (VISTA), Computerized Patient Record Systems (CPRS) or SharePoint Consult/Request Tracking System in processing internal consultations. Provide procedural support in administering quality monitors to be utilized in the internal consultation process to measure the success of efforts to provide seamless care and to support the education of staff in the proper use of the electronic record, to include internal consultation processes. Coordinate service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialty areas. Plan consult processing flow ,to ensure veterans receive consultation services in a timely manner. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/17/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education, as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Thorough knowledge to make sound and logical decisions, identifying and utilizing all appropriate available resources. Knowledge to deal effectively with problems, issues and situations which occur in the daily activities of VTS program to establish and maintain effective working relationships which contribute to the attainment of organizational and service goals. Extensive knowledge of VA laws, regulations, directives, policies, procedures, performance measures and guidelines relating to VA medical benefits administration, organizational structure. The Ability to meet and deal effectively with a wide variety of staff from many educational and skill levels, for the purpose of communicating clear instructions and interpretations. Ability to prepare and produce written instructions, and a variety of correspondence. Thorough knowledge of the various departments within the medical center and the policies and procedures of each unit as they relate to the Veteran Transportation Service Program clinics and patient care. Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of structure of electronic medical records. Proficient in using Microsoft software and other software programs deemed necessary by the Service.. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
