The Ashland facility has a rich history of producing castings and machined products. Founded as Goyne Brothers (later changed to the Goyne Pump Company) in 1881, Ashland first produced pumps for dewatering coal mines.
In 1979, Goulds Pumps Inc. purchased the Goyne Pump Company. Two years later, Goulds also purchased Morris Pumps, Inc, Baldwinsville, NY who manufactured a line of slurry pumps that complemented the Ashland products. In 1989 much of the Morris Pump line was moved to Ashland.
In 1997, ITT Industries acquired Goulds Pumps and Ashland became part of ITT. Ashland remained a part of ITT -- Goulds Pumps until December 11, 2010. At that time an individual purchased the Ashland Operation from ITT -- Goulds Pumps, and the company became Ashland Foundry & Machine Works, LLC. Speyside Equity purchased Ashland Foundry & Machine Works LLC in May of 2017 and major capital improvements continue as Ashland maintains its world class status.
