Global Field Operations is part of Operations Service Center (OSC). We transact using a continuously modernizing performance engine for Microsoft’s existing commercial businesses, and we optimize to accelerate the success of Microsoft’s emerging businesses and ventures.

Responsibilities

Be the Chief Operating Officer from Operations to Field:

  • Understand area/subsidiary business & regional partner strategy & co-relate to Operations enablement components (segment plans, partner stratification, product growth, cloud, market conditions, etc.) through a tailored execution plan

  • Drive discussions in subsidiary Rhythm of the Business (RoB) on operational learnings, insights and expectations at an executive level

  • Monitor changing compliance and regulatory landscape to identify policy changes and gaps; drive policy adherence

  • Represent Operations at the Executive Quarterly Business Reviews and identify opportunities to drive solutions to blockers

Enable New Business Models and Drive Process Improvements:

  • Sponsor and be responsible for new business models, including engaging across Operations, Corporate (Corp) and Field - ensuring the right constructs and selling motions to allowed being processed

  • Support new operations offerings as a service – i.e. development of market specific tailored programs to help grow the market

  • Identify and implement process changes to increase agility and seller productivity

Manage the intake process from field:

  • Understand requirements, assessment, and build the business case

  • Work with Corp Operations to prioritize and deliver

  • Represent Voice of the Field back to Operations – Market insights, partner gaps and manage critical escalations

  • Key performance indicators for Business Operations include: regulatory and statutory compliance; business enablement; scalable Cost Of Goods Sold (COGS); stakeholder experience satisfaction indexes.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Information Technology or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience Team management desirable; leadership preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable experience desirable; credentials preferred.

  • Startup or emerging business experience desirable; online experience preferred.

  • Ex-professional services background preferred. (e.g. technology or business consulting)

  • Change implementation experience required; end-to-end management preferred.

  • Ability to influence without direct authority.

  • Excited about collaboration with different and diverse teams

  • Remote teaming skills: facilitation, leadership, administration.

  • Analysis, problem resolution, judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Project management skills and attention to detail.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
