Robert Half Desktop Support Technician in Atlanta, Georgia

Description

As a Desktop Support Technician, you will provide hands-on technical support for hardware and software issues while ensuring optimal performance of our desktop systems and network. Your expertise in network troubleshooting, printer troubleshooting, computer hardware, and Active Directory will be crucial in maintaining a seamless work environment. This is a contract to permanent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, ensuring reliable access for all users.

  • Diagnose and fix printer-related problems, including setup, maintenance, and connectivity issues.

  • Perform hardware repairs and upgrades on desktops and laptops, ensuring all equipment functions efficiently.

  • Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, including account creation, modifications, and deactivation.

  • Document and track support requests in the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.

  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement technology solutions and improve support processes.

  • Provide training and guidance to users on software applications and best practices.

    Requirements

  • Proven experience in a desktop support or technical support role.

  • Strong knowledge of network troubleshooting and connectivity issues.

  • Experience with printer setup and troubleshooting.

  • Proficient in computer hardware repair and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with Active Directory user management.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Skills:

  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and common software applications.

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
