The Role

Lumen’s internship program is a 10 week, fast paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Human Resources team will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. The Main Responsibilities

  • Interface and partner with all levels of employees

  • Accomplish multiple projects simultaneously

  • Assist with planning of training events

  • Provide best in class customer service

  • Provide analytical support

  • Assist with recurring reporting activities

  • Assist with basic instructional design

  • Prepare and organize presentation slides and storyboards

  • Use intermediate and advanced functions in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Structure and convey information in verbal and written presentation formats

  • Research and collect data for various HR initiatives

  • Network with internal and external constituents

  • Other duties as assigned

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Graduating December 2025 through May 2026.

  • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar.

  • Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours per week, during the specified 10-week timeframe (early June through mid-August, 2025).

  • Ability to handle confidential information

  • HR leadership aspirations

  • Proficient Microsoft office and computer skills

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines

  • Highly motivated, organized, reliable, and detailed oriented

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Quick learner and capable of multitasking

  • Flexible and adapts well to change

  • Professional appearance and attitude

  • Preferred GPA 3.0.

  • US work authorization is required, sponsorship not available for this position

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location, level of education, and prior experience. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Intern hourly Pay Ranges: $22 - $43/hour

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
