GAP Solutions Inc Program Analyst II in Atlanta, Georgia
Position Objective:
The Program Analyst II is in support of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology (OPHDST). OPHDST is leading efforts to improve the availability and use of public health data to inform decision-making and action across the public health ecosystem. Their mission is to optimize timely access, exchange, and integration of public health data, while driving efficiency and consolidation of data and technology systems supported by CDC across all levels of public health and advancing open data and dissemination to inform decision making and action.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Management and Analysis Support - Provide public health programmatic, epidemiological, and scientific analytical support to DHIS and branch staff: Draft data analysis plans for ad hoc or standard reports; develop and document SAS, R, or SQL programs, views, and databases; conduct exploratory or study-specific analyses; verify results and validate with other known information sources; summarize and visualize results; and draft final reports, methodological white papers, or articles for publication.
Specific tasks:
Support technical writing work, including NNCSS write ups
Categorize methods being used for work across data assets, including IQVIA and Cerner
Participate on community of practice calls, document methods being used across agency and catalogue
Potentially support documentation of work in data lake, including transfer of on-prem datasets and automation of data ingestion processes
Support new visualization work that promotes the data
Provide communications to users and help coordinate and host webinars
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree, or equivalent experience
Relevant experience may be substituted for education: 4+ years’ experience providing program analysis activities with a related Associate’s Degree, or 2+ years’ with an associated BA/BS degree, or no experience with a Master’s Degree in a related field
Experience with data analytics tools and methods, including data visualization platforms
Proficient with Microsoft Suite and SharePoint
Due to the nature of this job, U.S. citizenship required
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous CDC experience, preferably in an emergency response environment is preferred
Attention to detail and ability to manage and plan multiple, complex processes
Strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus
Ability to work collaboratively within a team
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong aptitude in critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize competing task and complete multiple tasks efficiently

Strong organizational and administrative skills, with a high level of attention to detail
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Strong grammar, spelling, and writing skills
Experience playing a key role on a multidisciplinary team with work hours as deadlines require
Ability to quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies to meet customer needs
