Overview
The Engineering Group within Chick-fil-A, Inc. focuses on innovating revolutionary restaurant system solutions to care for Operators, Team Members, and Customers in 3000+ restaurants. The unique needs of Chick-fil-A restaurants have necessitated the innovation of new cutting-edge equipment, processes, and systems to solve challenges related to restaurant capacity and team member complexity while continuing to meet our rigorous quality standards.
The Engineer role is tasked testing and evaluating food preparation & assembly equipment, processes, and systems against performance, reliability, and quality specifications. This role requires an understanding of disciplined engineering principles including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Root Cause Analysis, Critical Design Review, Life Cycle Testing, and process improvement. This entry level role is expected to grow to be an influencer within Chick-fil-A to help direct the organization towards new innovative concepts by effectively communicating their applications in the context of menu and operational strategies.

Responsibilities
Evaluate equipment designs against functional and general specifications for performance, quality, and reliability.
Work in partnership with equipment suppliers to evaluate design changes to existing equipment solutions.
Conduct laboratory testing, field testing, accelerated life cycle testing and product testing.
Utilize engineering tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, FEA analysis, and Critical Design Review to identify risks and help develop mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure engineering change requests are executed through the system.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Work experience in Co-op, Internship, or other relevant business experience
Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of engineering
Latitude for unreviewed action or decision
Performs varied work under moderate supervision
Solves a range of straightforward problems and analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures
Possesses advanced analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills and abilities
Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with 2D engineering drawing software (AutoCAD or equivalent)
Experience with 3D solid modeling software (SolidWorks or equivalent)
