How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Sr. Software Development Engineers, TPF in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development, maintenance,enhancement, and support of Electronic Ticketing applications.

  • Understandbusiness requirements to provide the technical design of computer software.

  • Usehigh level of programming expertise in C++ and Basic Assembler Language for thezTPF environment to develop and maintain computer software.

  • Developappropriate software and documentation according to Delta standards, supportand troubleshoot computer systems as required, optimizing performance,resolving problems, and providing timely follow up on all problems.

  • Follow Delta standards and methodologies in thedevelopment and implementation of computer software.

  • Work on complex projectsthat require subject matter expertise.

  • Practicesafety-conscious behaviours in all operational processes and procedures.

  • Respectdiffering options and collaborate on creating solutions for Delta Airlines.

  • Telecommutingpermitted two days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in zTPF, Assembler Language, or a related filed.

Must have experience with:

  • Building computer software for Passenger Reservations, Ticketing, and Inventory within the airline industry

  • Developing and maintaining software for a z/Transaction Processing Facility operating system

  • Coding using Transaction Processing Facility application

  • Structure and concept of Ticketing and Reservation Databases as used in airline industry

  • Ticket Issue and Reissue concepts

  • Coding in Assembly Programming Language, Sabretalk, and C

  • Teletype processing

  • Multiple Virtual Storage environment.
