How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Perform as a Shop Equipment Technician in the maintenance of hangar support equipment. Must utilize appropriate equipment and material to accomplish all routine and non-routine maintenance functions on equipment, and parts of equipment. Inspect service, troubleshoot, repair, replace and overhaul all hangar support equipment. Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts, rotating days off, accept indoor or outdoor work assignments, and be subject to overtime and travel.

The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $37.22 with a potential maximum hourly rate of $37.81 The ability to reach the maximum hourly rate is dependent upon several other offered premiums (Examples would include but not limited to - Airframe and Powerplant license , Shift differential, Station location differential, Line Maintenance differential, Skill differential).

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Two year degree in a related technical field and / or two years technical experience in a related field preferred.

  • Strongly prefer welding experience and or certification.

  • Consideration will be given to candidates qualified for at least one, preferably two or more of the following: Industrial HVAC, Electrical, OSHA welding, and hydraulics/jack repairs.

  • Must be able to read, write, and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical documents and system schematics.

  • Should have a working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems commonly found on hangar support equipment.

  • Should be able to work alone or a part of a team to complete projects.

  • Formal certified training in inspection, repair, and testing of certain specific equipment (jacks, welding, Freon systems, man lifts, and PIVs) is desired.

  • Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts, rotating days off, accept indoor or outdoor work assignments, and be subject to overtime and travel.

  • (If Internal) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position. Department 248 has a 24-month residency requirement.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • TIG weld experience with stainless and nickel alloys preferred.

  • HVAC Experience
