Witham Family Hotels Front Desk Agent in Atlantic Oceanside, Maine

As a Front Desk Associate at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout their stay.

By embodying the essence of hospitality, you will provide personalized and attentive service, ensuring each guest has a seamless and delightful experience. Your responsibilities will include making and confirming reservations, registering and assigning rooms, issuing room keys or cards, collecting payments, and addressing any questions or needs our guests may have.

You will be working your magic on a full-time year-round basis. Your schedule will average 35-40 hours per week. Your schedule may include early mornings, late nights, evenings, weekends, and holiday hours. Overtime may be available and will be paid in accordance with federal and state laws.

You will earn between $17 and $23 per hour, based on your experience and skills.

Essential Duties

  • Welcome Guests: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, share local tips, and handle special requests.

  • Manage Reservations, Arrivals, and Departures: Handle reservations, check-ins, and check-outs smoothly, and suggest upgrades.

  • Sell Rooms: Promote amenities, sell rooms to walk-ins, and find alternatives if we're full.

  • Provide Guest Assistance: Resolve guest issues quickly, deliver extras, and share local recommendations.

  • Work Closely with Team Members: Collaborate with the team, communicate well, and always offer a helping hand.

  • Run Reports and Organize the Space: Keep the front desk area tidy, stock items, update logs, and manage records.

  • Other Essential Duties:Ensure top-quality work and follow all procedures and policies.

Skills Required

  • Hotel Savvy: Understanding of hotel operating procedures.

  • Property Guru: Strong knowledge of our amenities, services, and facilities.

  • Communicator Extraordinaire: Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Detail-Oriented: Superb organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Guest Focused: Strong customer service orientation with a proactive problem-solving approach.

  • Tech-Smart: Proficient with, or able to quickly learn, reservation systems and basic computer applications.

  • Flexible Team Player: Ability to take directions, give instructions, and adapt easily. Work well as part of a team, communicating positively with teammates and guests.

Required Education and Experience

High School diploma and/or equivalent work experience preferred. Three months of guest service experience at a high-end hotel, resort, private club, or in an office environment is preferred. We will train the right candidate.

Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of standing and working on a computer, walking, and some bending, lifting, twisting, carrying, kneeling, reaching, feeling and working. Ability to perform repetitive motions, talk, to reach, handle, grasp and communicate. Frequent computer keying using both hands and viewing material on a computer screen.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

  • Extended workdays may be required to accomplish tasks and meet workload demands during peak periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
