Role Summary

Precision Medical (PM) Lead is a commercial strategic function and acting in a “non-promotional manner”, reporting into commercial management, interacting with internal and external stakeholders on the basis of well-defined roles and responsibilities in accordance with Janssen guidance and applicable rules and regulations/legislations

The role of the PM lead will be always focussed on Diagnostic Testing and not Janssen product discussions

KPIs for PM Lead can be qualitative and/or quantitative, but for quantitative not directly or indirectly sales related.

The Greek Precision Medicine Lead is an exciting role with broad responsibility, where the core mission will be to lead the Diagnostic strategy cross-functionally (e.g., coordinating with Medical Affairs, HEMAR and Business Intelligence), build and develop the diagnostics strategy and drive execution by using cross-functional resources of brands and portfolio.

As a new role within the Greek organization, the successful candidate will craft the scope of the role, be proactive in taking new initiatives and drive priorities to best prepare strategies, in close partnership with regional and local cross-functional counterparts and collaborators.

Diagnostics is a growth enabler for the organization and this role will have high visibility across TAs, and to the leadership team, with direct influence in the broader JnJ portfolio strategy regionally.

The Precision Medicine Lead will play a key role in sharing knowledge and educating internal team members utilizing his/her know-how in the field to help build outstanding capabilities as well as optimize success in pre-launch and market preparation activities, including the design and implementation of a local diagnostic strategy. At the same time, the future incumbent will be pivotal in building and driving external awareness amongst KOLs and Labs.

Main Activities/Tasks:

Primary responsibilities for this leadership position will include but not limited to:

  • Develops local PM Strategy based on the EMEA PM strategy and accountable for implementing locally (across TAs, so including Oncology, Retina and future TAs), budget owner for PM activities ​

  • Works with local Country Value Team (CVT) to collect and integrate cross-functional inputs and develop clinical, economic value proposition and testing readiness.

  • Primary point of contact internally and externally for Precision Medicine (“PM advocate”)​

  • Identify and contract local Dx partners incl. commercialization and sponsor agreements to support availability and awareness​

  • Leverage a cross-TA team consisting of existing functions and resources to execute on the PM tactical plan (brand-specific and portfolio) to ensure compliant execution of activities by other functions depending on product lifecycles​

  • Supports EMEA PM Lead on projects that are scalable across markets and providing input for Region/Global strategy

  • Ensures Credo Values are demonstrated in the day-to-day interactions.

The role is based in Athens, Attica, Greece and will involve travel (≥30%) within Greece (& potentially to the EMEA region for meetings).

Qualifications

Role Requirements

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (e.g. D (Medical Oncologist and/or hematologist) a PharmD or PhD

  • Fluently in Greek and English

  • Driving license B category

  • Masters Business and/or Advanced Life Sciences degree preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/diagnostic industry in progressive leadership roles is required.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Oncology TA

  • Prior experience in diagnostics is preferred.

  • The successful candidate must have a pharmaceutical background and can evidence a strategic approach with the ability to assimilate sophisticated science and data quickly.

  • Consistent track record of commercial experience working with cross-functional teams on complex or ambiguous issues autonomously, with little/no daily direction.

  • Marketing and launch experiences with brand responsibility are preferred.

  • Strong background and experience in developing and implementing diagnostic strategies for new products, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Clear track record working with Key Opinion Leaders and external customers.

  • The capability of delivering under time pressure and in ambiguous situations with limited information is crucial.

  • Ability to provide succinct & insightful communications to senior management.

  • An understanding of the drug development process is preferred.

  • Agile and entrepreneurial with strong leadership potential.
