THE POSITION

Technical Project Lead, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI:

* *

Design and direct the manufacture of automotive electronic equipment. Responsible for constant coordination and ramping up acquisitions projects in terms of acquisition control, acquisitions parameters, acquisition reviews, budget planning, regional pre--staffing. Global champion in Americas for PL 3 BD ACQ and first contact to regional stakeholders. Evaluation and quantitation of the generic/platform portion + reuse share, to quotes. Synchronize all regional quote globally activity to leverage optimization and in line with the Quote process. Leading and guiding regional quote teams. Perform regional acquisition- / Quote Kick-off Meeting. Review technical and commercial RFI / RFQ proposals. Drive and coordinate cost estimation / -improvements (e.g., BoM, R&D, Quality, Logistics, Footprint).  In depth analysis and review of R&D quote work products including electrical and mechanical architecture and bill of material, system architecture, features and use cases, and software architecture and concept.

 

Full-time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week. Telecommuting permitted up to 50% per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.

 

Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

 

  • Hardware, software or system engineering experience designing and developing automotive electronics;
  • Leading and coordinating work between teams based in one or more non-U.S. countries;
  • Designing Vehicle Access function/system architecture and wireless technologies with LF;
  • Designing Vehicle Access function/system architecture and wireless technologies with RF; and
  • Translating customer technical requirements, including customer features, electrical requirements and performance requirements, into optimized solutions based on reuse and profitability.

     

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:

 

  • Designing Vehicle Access function/system architecture and wireless technologies with Bluetooth;
  • Designing Vehicle Access function/system architecture and wireless technologies with UWB;
  • Designing Vehicle Access function/system architecture and wireless technologies with NFC;
  • Managing quote teams based in one or more non-U.S. countries; and
  • Analyzing financial performance of quotes and using tradeoffs of invest, R&D, BOM cost to define improvement measures.

     

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience working on quote and acquisition projects and analyzing cost affinity.

 

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience analyzing historical quote data or multi-phase quote data to compare and identify opportunities, based on historical data across previous quotes or within a multi-phase quote.
