Kuehne+Nagel National Operational Key Account Manager in Auckland, New Zealand

Kuehne+Nagel’s Road Logistics Division is looking for an Operational Key Account Manager to join the team.

Your Role

Responsible for the operational management of one of our domestic Key Accounts, you will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day activities of the account, including operational management, sales and financial performance. This role requires someone who can build and maintain strong relationships and deliver on agreed KPI’s. The role will also be responsible for leading, motivating and developing a small team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of Road Logistics consignments for the dedicated account, through booking, monitoring and following up the relevant parties

  • Deliver high quality operational management for the allocated account with a focus on ensuring KPIs are met

  • Develop strategies and process improvement initiatives to develop and maintain the overall performance of the account

  • To create and deliver content, including reporting and analysis for weekly/monthly/quarterly review meetings

  • To provide training on KN tools, products and systems to the relevant stakeholders within the account

  • Provide guidance, support and be the go-to person for both internal parties, the customer & the customer’s suppliers

Your Skills and Experiences

  • In depth experience within the domestic transport industry

  • Have an analytical mind-set; able to analyze information, identify problems and trends, and solve problems

  • A desire to grow and consistently improve the relationship between KN and our Key Account

  • Commitment to finding more efficient or cost-effective ways of doing things

  • Proven track record in a client facing / client centric role

  • Strong team player and ability to positively influence your colleagues

  • Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously

  • Confident and comfortable dealing with people at all levels

  • Be customer focused and commercially astute

  • Have strong resilience and the ability to recover quickly from setbacks

  • Deliver a message of “can do” attitude – be constantly willing to go the extra mile to provide solutions for the customer
