About the role

We are looking for a Senior Production Team member for New Zealand Fire Doors located in Mt. Wellington, Aukland. In this role you will produce high quality timber and metal work within commercial and domestic industries. Operate machinery safely and efficiently according to operating standards/instructions and in line with health and safety regulations, practices and legislation.

You will be responsible for completing all work assigned within reasonable timeframes and to a high standard of quality using established standard manufacturing procedures and safe operating procedures.

Key Position Criteria :

  • Manufacturing of doors, door frames and/or timber framing

  • Ability to operate forklift, with Forklift license

  • Proven Senior Operator / Leading hand experience

  • Experience using hand-held tools such as chisels, saws or hammers.

  • Experience operating powered hand held tools such as routers, sanders or grinders.

  • Experience operating machinery

  • Perform basic daily and weekly maintenance on machines

    Quality, Compliance and OH&S

  • Comply with all processes, policies and procedures.

  • Abide by the standards and values set out by ASSA ABLOY’s Code of Conduct.

  • Take reasonable care for own health and safety. Not place at risk the health or safety of any person at the workplace.

    In addition, the successful candidate must possess :

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.

  • Carpentry experience preferred but not essential

  • A desire to achieve good outcome and want to develop on the job and be part of a team

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities

  • Planning and time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
