ETEL Transformers Quality Inspector Lead in Auckland - Waitakere, New Zealand
ETEL Ltd is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Transformer Quality Inspector Lead to join our reputable team. In this 12-month fixed-term integral role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of transformers designated for special projects. Reporting directly to the GM Operations, you will oversee the quality inspection process, ensuring strict adherence to approved QC protocols and checklists while maintaining meticulous document control and traceability.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct incoming inspections for purchased products, parts, and components ensuring thorough traceability and documentation.
Oversee and execute the quality inspection process for transformers designated for all operations including special projects.
Ensure strict adherence to approved QC protocols and checklists across all manufacturing departments.
Maintain comprehensive document control and traceability for Special Projects.
Generate detailed reports for inspection outcomes and maintain accurate records.
Perform quality inspections at various stages of production, ensuring compliance with agreed specifications.
Monitor and address any instances of rework or retesting to ensure compliance with specifications.
Identify areas for improvement in traceability and quality coverage and recommend appropriate solutions.
Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure timely updates to quality documentation and procedures.
Ensure ERP systems are updated promptly to reflect any changes in materials or processes.
Uphold ETEL's Quality System Policies and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Solid familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes, including metalwork fabrication, painting, and assembly.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in quality control or inspection, with a strong focus on procedural adherence and documentation.
Preferably, some experience in electrical testing.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard is desirable.
Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE/IEC standards relating to transformer testing would be advantageous.
Experience in 6 Sigma methodologies and a background in Process Engineering are highly preferred.
