Pay Range: from \$111,200-\$139,431

JOB SUMMARY: This position supervises and oversees a technical team focused on the reliable interconnection of load and generation resources. The responsibilities include performance and oversight of T&D interconnection studies including those performed by contract resources.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitating collaboration between internal technical teams involved in the interconnection study process.

Collaborating and coordinating with external contractors, stakeholders, other Utilities, regulatory agencies, government agencies, and customers.

Monitoring and engaging in technical and legislative activities as well as emerging issues in the industry

Co-leadership of a T&D interconnection technical governance committee in collaboration with counterpart in Distribution Planning.

Representing AVANGRID on technical committees and providing technical input and testimony for regulatory proceedings.

Utilize knowledge to influence and guide department staff

Provide technical leadership in the most complex projects or processes that have a wide impact on the business

Mentor, develop and support team in both technical and behavioral competencies

Liaison / direct contractors on company policy, standards, and best practices

Work independently with little supervision

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:

BSEE /Degree in EE required with a strong preference given to applicants with Advanced Degrees or Certifications (e.g. MSEE, PE, etc.); Candidates from other engineering disciplines may be considered depending on relevant work experience

5 years in a similar discipline with direct supervisory experience, and/or 7+ years (Industry related experience) with the ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills

Theoretical Engineering knowledge: Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytics, Modeling & Calculation (e.g. sym. Components, per unit, etc.), Understanding the Business Model

Practical Engineering Experience/Application: Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, (e.g. field experience, standardization, develop business case and defend in front of stakeholders)

Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment: Local, State and Federal Regulatory Standards and Requirements (NERC, NPCC, ISO, PUC, etc.)

Power System Studies - Knowledge & Interpretation of Study Assumptions and Results: (e.g. Comprehensive Area Studies, Power Flow, DER, Voltage, Contingency, phase imbalance, Power Factor correction, Short Circuit, reliability, resiliency, Capacity, distribution automation, etc.)

Skills/Abilities:

Engineering documentation: Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation, review, and approve engineering work done by others

Communicating & Influencing: (e.g. technical writing abilities, presentation skills, etc.)
