Job Overview

The Medical Technologist II is responsible for performing laboratory testing and procedures in any/all areas of the laboratory and reporting timely accurate test results. The Blood and Marrow Transplant Laboratory works closely with the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Program team, this lab helps to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pediatric transplant patients. Our team is the region's most experienced pediatric blood and marrow transplant and cellular therapy (BMT) program. We have performed more than 1,100 bone marrow transplants and have a growing cellular therapy program offering new, effective and less toxic therapies for a variety of diseases. The Transfusion Medicine branch of our Laboratory Services Department is responsible for supplying safe, pure and potent blood and cellular therapy products to the patients we serve. Our labs offer a wide range of high-quality lab screenings and diagnostic tests with rapid turnaround times, as well as an unmatched scope and capabilities, including diagnostic tests that aren't available anywhere else in the country. Additional Information

Department: BMT Lab Hours per pay week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Days, Monday - Friday. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department. With rotating on-call for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institutio EXPERIENCE - Two years clinical laboratory experience required. EQUIVALENCY - Meeting one of the other requirements set by the ASCP Board of Certification may be accepted in lieu of degree. CERTIFICATION(S) - Medical Technologist/Scientist Certification ASCP or equivalent Previous BMT and/or Blood Bank experience is preferred.
