Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

A bachelor's degree in public health, behavioral health, health promotion, business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
1 year of professional level experience in public health practice, community health, behavioral health, mental health, treatment/addiction/recovery, Total Worker Health , organizational health psychology, health education, or a related field.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with individuals in recovery from substance use disorders, skills may include but are not limited to:
Communication skills (e.g. motivational interviewing)
Conflict resolution and crisis management
Cultural relevance and understanding
Data-driven decision-making

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Interpersonal skills and abilities needed to readily contact, engage, and enroll new businesses into a public health program.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent customer service, client, and project management skills.
Knowledge of behavioral health, and/or Total Worker Health approaches.
Demonstrated commitment and initiative to advance diversity and inclusion.

Join the Colorado School of Public Health as an Outreach and Engagement Specialist. This position is a key member of the school's Center for Health, Work & Environment (CHWE) and will serve the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Center of Excellence for Total Worker Health, Colorado's Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative™, and Health Links, a signature program of CHWE that collaborates with employers to build a culture of health and safety in the workplace. The Outreach and Engagement Specialist will recruit program participants through employer outreach, coordinate the planning and hosting of events and trainings, collaborate with program partners, and work across the Center on communications and continuing education for faculty and staff. This position will also conduct advising sessions with program participants to assess and recommend evidence-based workplace solutions to supporting employees experiencing substance use and other behavioral health conditions, participating as part of the Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) advising team.

– This position is located on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO and is eligible to work a hybrid schedule with at least two days of the week that can be worked from home.
