In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

We are seeking a Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join our Engineering team in Aurora, Colorado for the role of Integration & Test (I&T) Deputy Lead. In this role, you will work with cross-disciplinary team of engineers who are leading the industry in ground systems solutions.

The Integration & Test Deputy Lead plans and performs Integration & Test assignments involving complex software and hardware subsystems and resolves identified conflicting issues. The individual leads the Integration and Test group, with duties spanning Feature Verification and Requirement selloff, test automation oversight, and lab coordination. Participates in an I&T program which includes establishing methods and techniques, planning tests, developing test requirements, writing I&T procedures and reports, performing software integration, and conducting tests utilizing comprehensive knowledge of these complex subsystems. Leads I&T readiness reviews, design reviews, and presentations to the customer as well as senior program management. Utilizes a broad knowledge of precedents in SI&T engineering and applies understanding of principles of related engineering and software technology to ensure test validity and integrity.

What You Will Do

This role includes but is not limited to:

  • Oversee and provide daily direction to Integration and Test team

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis, which includes preparing and presenting technical briefs

  • Oversee development and execution of test procedures. Identify technical issues during software integration and collaborate with fellow engineers to drive solutions to closure

  • Work in an Agile program environment

  • Work in a classified lab on site in Aurora, Colorado

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant systems integration and test experience or 6 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in (STEM)

  • Hands-on Integration and Test engineering experience

  • Technical team leadership experience

  • Experience preparing and executing Integration and Test procedures

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving software system execution problems

  • Experience with systems engineering principles and activities

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment

  • Experience with ground station and satellite domains (such as terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, on-orbit operations)

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

  • Familiarity with Rational Quality Manager (RQM) and Doors Next Generation (DNG)

  • Test Automation experience (Cucumber or Gherkin)

  • Experience with Raytheon EclipseTM or Raytheon EquinoxTM

  • Experience with Java, C++, or Python

  • Experience with Linux operating system

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
