RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will be accountable for delivering and maintaining the overall business plan required to achieve the volume, share, and sales goals for the Planter’s and Hormel brands into the Convenience Store channel.

  • Provides brand, category, customer, market, and industry knowledge during the development of the volume and trade plan.

  • Creates field ready sales solutions (category assessments/selling stories) that can be utilized/leveraged by the field sales team to support the presentations and discussions they will have with their customers.

  • Champions the assigned categories and brands on a national market basis.

  • Builds and allocates the volume objectives and trade budgets for the brands under their responsibility on a macro level and down to each customer.

  • Leads the strategic planning process between the category sales team and the entire field sales organization including field directors, managers, representatives, and customer marketing managers.

  • Works in a consultative role collaborating with the customer, competitive analysis, and category trends for their marketing counterparts as well as other functions in the organization; acquisition team, new product development team, and senior management.

  • Manages the overall trade promotion budget for their assigned products and categories.

  • Adds expertise to the front-line sales team efforts around customer development and penetration.

  • Maintains gross margin and assigned trade budget spending levels for their respective brands.

  • Is a champion and expert in driving Total Food Growth through Foodservice & Convenience for the responsible brands.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • A pattern of initiative.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.

  • Strong persuasive skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • Analytical experience.

  • Experience in the convenience sales channel.

BENEFITS: Hormel Foods offers an excellent benefits package. Competitive base salary plus bonus, annual merit increase performance reviews, medical, dental, vision, non-contributory pension, profit sharing, 401(k), stock purchase plan, relocation assistance, and paid vacation.

The base pay range is $78,000 to $122,000 per year; however, actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
