TRAINING COORDINATION: Responsible for new and continuing advisor training and assessment of the training programfor the College of Liberal Arts; serve as chair of Training Committee.PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION: Develop, coordinate, and assess professional development opportunities for academic advisors and Student Affairs staff in the College of Liberal Arts. Facilitate ACA and NACADA memberships, renewals, and event participation.ONBOARDING NEW ADVISING STAFF: In collaboration with colleagues from across Liberal Arts and UT Austin, work with each new advisor to set up their access to the tools, systems, and communications required to begin the training program and perform academic advising functions.ACADEMIC ADVISING: Advise students on an ad hoc basis and support teams that need assistance.FIG/TRIG FACILITATION: Lead at least one FIG/TRIG student cohort per year.SPECIAL PROJECTS: Assist the Director of Advising with special projects as needed throughout the academic year. Student Affairs is a large unit with many teams serving different segments of the Liberal Arts undergraduate student population. All Student Affairs employees are expected to cross train and support each other to maximize resources across the unit and ensure students are served. Other related functions as assigned.
