Provides leadership and oversight of financial functions, including accounting and financial reporting and analysis.Hire, train, mentor and manage a team of accounting professionals.Serves as the organizations primary point of contact and liaison to central university offices such as the Office of Accounting and Internal Audits.Supports efforts to ensure sound financial planning, budgeting, and account management processes are in place and in compliance with UT processes and procedures.Create and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with university policy, state and federally sponsored program guidelines, and state and federal law.Prepares models, forecasts, and financial projections including recurring and ad hoc reports such as budget to actual and outlook reports including reserves, risks, and opportunities for improvement.Maintains accounting records for all TIE accounts. Tracks financial and non-financial commitments. Conducts required monthly reconciliations; monitors discrepancies with account balances, reviews accounts for overages or deficits, insufficient funds, incorrect object codes, etc.; and process corrections as needed.Develops and monitors financial performance metrics. Oversees account structure including unit codes, subunit codes, and accounts to capture financial information to enable analysis and supplemental financial reporting and to ensure accounts are requested and inactivated in a timely manner to track and report spending. Monitor and report on account balances and process funding transfers. Participate in the development of the organizations budget and ensure financial activity aligns with the budget.Other related functions as assigned.
